Total 700 reps for Christmas
I did this workout for a few reasons.
1) To honor my mother
2) To make sure that I’m doing this for the right reasons. To often those of us that are “trying” to lose weight get caught in the trap of working out only to lose weight. But in order for the weightloss to happen and stick we have to develop habits that we intend on having for the long haul.
Working out on Christmas and then having a non diet friendly meal is a sign of permanent habit change, as far as I’m concerned. The reason I say this is because I generally can’t eat bad and exercise hardcore. Generally when we exercise we want to feel like we’re all in, and that includes diet. Eating whatever I want is so strongly linked to not exercising that it’s hard for me to straddle the fence.
3) I wanted to kick my own ass on a holiday that’s all about overeating and feeling sorry for yourself because you didn’t get the gift that you wanted. Of course that’s not all that Christmas is about, but so many people make this holiday about materialism and what not. In order to transform your body you have to be able to reframe how you view your personal reality.

4) Believe it or not I actually like training hard, and I know that only by me purposely doing hard stuff especially when it’s uncomfortable, I build the habit of living fit.

So today with a hurt heart, that’s missing my loved one’s. I want to feel sorry for myself, but I just can’t. So I decided to overcome myself. This I know is extremely important in this weight loss/ life transformation journey. I know that everytime we go against our inherent nature that begs for us to be weak and succumb to our fleshly desires of laziness and self apathy, we add one more thread to the cloak of transformation that we’re so eloquently threading with our blood, time, and tears.
